Poem · From the Margen catalogue

At ten past four the market does not exist yet

Rosalía lowers the awning at ten past one and the square goes back to being a square.

At eleven she sold the last melon to a man who wanted half of one.

At nine she stacked the tomatoes in a pyramid, the ugly ones behind, like every Tuesday.

At seven she raised the roof with Damián, who delivers the ice and is always late.

At ten past four she switched off the alarm clock, laced her boots and went down for the van.
